Artist Statement

In the moment I never fully understand what I’m creating but I’m fully aware that I’m always capturing a moment within my future. I encounter God mostly through my art process. From the things He wishes to share and needs me to take notice of in addition to bringing attention to. It feels as though I’m painting riddles I’m not supposed be able to solve until years from now. It’s an ongoing riddle and to not pay attention to every hint will ruin the context for the next. For me creating art is akin to breaking down scripture. Within most of my body of work I aim to allow the viewer to comprehend the pieces on their own without my presence and dissertation. The key is to allow my art to be less of a riddle and more of an answer to probing questions.
