I Don’t Have The Luxury To Go Back

I Don’t Have The Luxury To Go Back

”I Don’t Have the Luxury to Go Back”

We come across this phrase often, but it’s permanent for me. Others actually have the autonomy to move backwards with no repercussions. I, however, will suffer the most catastrophic series of events going forward if I choose to go backwards. Maybe I’m being dramatic, but I just know I could barely get away with what the average individual can when making a decision like that.

Naturally, I have a tendency to want to outdo myself each and every time. It feels off for me if I choose to execute the same curated experience all over again. Ironically, an Art Basel concept was stolen from me and pitched to another group of individuals only for them to execute the same idea the following year.

Did they experience a series of catastrophic events following that exhibition? No. It was simply a matter of them not getting the same “praise” as before. I’ve learned if someone isn’t clear evolving in thought, collaborating with them can set me back.

I’ve had my fair share of attempting to reheat my own nachos in different aspects, but only by the third scenario was I able to recognize something important:

My formula is evolving—anything else is regression. I can’t repeat greatness. I have to expand beyond it.
