Yashiva Robinson (b. 1989) is a Haitian American fashion artist whose work exists at the intersection of fashion, fine art, and aesthetic philosophy. Born and raised in historic Overtown, Miami—formerly known as Colored Town—Yashiva’s creative foundation was shaped by her rich cultural lineage, expressive upbringing, and the visual vocabulary of her community.

A self-taught prodigy, Yashiva discovered her artistic ability at the age of five, quickly progressing from basic sketches to lifelike renderings drawn from memory. Early influences such as Disney’s Aladdin production sketches sparked a fascination with line, character, and storytelling. Her teachers recognized her talent and encouraged her admission to a competitive magnet art program, where she was accepted based on a spontaneous memory-based still life test. From that point forward, Yashiva continued her training at renowned magnet art and design schools across Miami, immersing herself in drawing, painting, sculpture, film photography, and mixed media.

Her artistic influences span across artists such as Van Gogh, Romero Britto, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring, Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dalí, M.C. Escher, Caravaggio, and Parmigianino—each contributing to her interest in bold expression, atmospheric narratives, and the emotional resonance of form.

Yashiva’s professional journey began in 2009 as she navigated Miami’s art scene, social media, and freelance creative work across multiple disciplines. Over the years, she explored fashion design, tattooing, mural work, body painting, illustration, and live art—all of which now inform her multidisciplinary approach. Her ability to shift fluidly between mediums has allowed her to build a robust understanding of visual language, creative process, and the business of art.

After a period of personal and creative transformation in 2022, Yashiva reevaluated the purpose behind her work. This introspection revitalized her commitment to art—not as commercial performance, but as intentional exploration. While her spirituality continues to provide grounding, it serves as a quiet influence rather than the central narrative of her practice.

Today, Yashiva embraces her identity as a fashion artist, creating work that merges fine art sensibility with the imaginative potential of fashion. Her images explore atmosphere, gesture, character, and the emotional language of style—transforming fashion into an environment and a means of storytelling. Drawing from her experience in live art, experimental fashion processes, and aesthetic culture, she constructs world-building scenes that romanticize everyday life and reveal the subtle relationships between people, space, and beauty.

Through her artistic practice, Yashiva aims to expand the dialogue around fashion art, support creatives navigating their own transitions, and cultivate community with authenticity and compassion. Her work ultimately centers on exploring elegance, identity, and the quiet emotional experiences embedded within the worlds she creates.
