Artist Statement

“Not A Strand Left Behind Series : Lemonade” Digital Art By Miami Multidisciplinary Artist Yashiva Robinson 2021

I create from the intersection of fashion and fine art—a space shaped by atmosphere, gesture, and the aesthetic language of how we inhabit the world. My practice is rooted in the philosophy of aesthetics: the belief that beauty is not an object but a relationship between form, space, and emotional presence. Fashion, for me, is an environment. It is texture, mood, character, and the quiet choreography between body and setting.

Over time, I’ve learned that creativity is fluid. What I once perceived as “art block” was often transition—movement into other forms of expression such as writing, poetry, or music. These shifts were not distractions but expansions, revealing that my artistry is not bound to a single medium, but to the pursuit of meaning through aesthetics.

As a fashion artist, I embrace the middle lane I once tried to choose sides from. My work blends fine art sensibility with fashion’s narrative potential, creating world-building imagery that feels intimate, atmospheric, and emotionally grounded. Whether through live art, studio practice, or experimental fashion processes, I explore the subtle forms of elegance that shape how we exist in space: posture, mood, environment, and the emotions stitched between visual choices.

Each piece becomes an excavation of “why”—a reflection of intention, curiosity, and presence. Through scene, character, and gesture, I aim to reveal the beauty that lives not on the surface, but in the relationships between people, style, and the worlds they move through.
